MLB NETWORK
Mission: Come up with a new way to promote Spring Training Coverage

Concept: 30 CLUBS IN 30 DAYS

When working for MLB Network's Marketing & Promotions department, I developed a concept that would be based around the concept of "travel'. How do the MLB players get to Spring Training? How do fans get to Spring Training if they don't live in Arizona or Florida? They fly! The traveling experience can be a bit of a headache, but when you think about it, it can also be a bit of an adventure just getting to your destination. On top of this traveling concept for coverage of 30 Clubs In 30 Days for MLB's flagship show MLB Tonight, the sponsor was Camping World. Which, in theory involves a little bit of travel as well to go camping. In the end, we decided on incorporating luggage stickers from the various Spring Training leagues (Cactus & Grapefruit) to help tie the concept back to baseball. My "outside the box" creative direction, mixed with motion designer Eddie Wiseman's skill set, created an energetic piece that was enjoyed and later evolved with extra scenes for several years.
